Love fresh cooked carrots, so when we got some in our weekly Produce Farmers Direct box, I cooked them up and used them for dinner as well as put some in a chicken pot pie for the next night!

Cooked Carrots Recipe


  • 2-4 large whole carrots
  • 1-2 Tbs unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Peel carrots, slice off ends
  2. Slice carrots into like size pieces
  3. Place in pot, cover with water
  4. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, simmer gently until almost tender
  5. Remove from heat, drain, place in serving dish
  6. Put butter on the top and season with salt and pepper
  7. Stir, serve immediately.
